My story

Kaley is young, healthy, blonde, and beautiful! She is also very shy around strangers and needs time to accept someone new. She will not warm up to a new adopter right away until she learns she can trust you. One of the best ways to build up a shy dog’s confidence is to enlist the help of a buddy, so we’re looking for a home that has a confident, well-socialized dog in residence. Kaley grew up around other dogs, likes to play, and she looks to them for guidance. Kaley is 2 yrs old and weighs 18 lbs (the perfect not-too-big-not-too-small size). We don't know her breed; we're guessing Westie & Lhasa Apso mix, but who knows... she will be whatever you want her to be. She has long soft cream-colored hair which sheds very little, if at all (currently in a very short summer cut), and soulful brown eyes that just speak to you. Once her hair grows out, she will be absolutely stunning! If you're gentle and patient, with a little encouragement you will see her blossom into the sweet, loving, playful, and devoted little pup that she is. Kaley is smart and wants to please you; she is very cooperative and well-behaved as long as you use a kind voice and gentle movements (treats help too!). She likes other dogs, and she likes to play, but she's also content to just lie quietly near you. Toys are also fun for her, but she’s definitely got that terrier prey drive and will want to go after small animals like hamsters or kittens, so we would not recommend a home with these types of small pets. This gorgeous girl might play a little hard to get at first, but she is so worth it! This lovable pup has a heart of gold.
