My story

Meet Wilson – A Gentle Soul Ready for the Right HomeWilson is a young German Shepherd with a heart full of potential, just waiting for the right family to help him shine. Found as a stray, Wilson came to us under-socialized and unsure of the world around him. With patience and kindness, he’s slowly learning to trust, build confidence, and discover that life can be safe and full of good things.Wilson doesn’t yet understand all the “how to be a dog” basics, so he’d thrive in a home with a balanced, well-socialized dog who can gently guide him and model healthy behaviors. His forever family should have experience working with fearful or under-socialized dogs and understand the importance of letting him move at his own pace.He could live with respectful, dog-savvy children who know how to read canine body language and give him space when needed. Wilson will also need slow, careful introductions to cats and kids since we don’t know his history with them. He is also a known flight risk, so secure containment and extra care during transitions will be important. Structured, consistent daily walks will help him build confidence and provide the routine he needs to feel safe. This sweet, smart boy may lack the natural confidence often seen in his breed, but with the right support, patience, and structure, Wilson will blossom into a loyal, loving companion. If you’re ready to invest the time and heart into helping him grow, Wilson is ready to meet you.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wilson- by Appointment Only, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
