My story

Hi friends! My name is Thunder and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Jindo/Welsh Corgi mix Age: 6.5 years approx.  Gender: Male Weight: 26lbs (12 kg)  Length: 47cm (head to butt) Height: 44cm (paws to top of my head) Current Location: S. Korea RESCUE STORY - My rescuers found me in bad shape living at the Gimje City Shelter in Korea. They said I stood out for how much I loved people, greeting everyone with a wagging tail! Unfortunately, despite my happy demeanour, it seemed that my health was deteriorating...I had severe abdominal swelling due to fluid retention and the harsh winter, along with the risk of infectious diseases at the shelter, made my prognosis not very good. Seeing my urgent need for medical attention, my rescuers saved me from the shelter just in time to get the care I so desperately needed. Now I've made a full recovery and am looking for my very own hoomans to love! TEMPERAMENT - I'm just as happy being at home relaxing, laying down and day dreaming as I am going for walks with hoomans. I'm mostly a relaxed pup although I can get active on walks and get excited to see people I like, otherwise I prefer to chill and seek out cuddles. I am a true love bug, who enjoys following people around looking for love and attention. This can make me a bit jealous towards other pups when they also show attention towards the people I like and I can get into some conflicts with them. Therefore, although I can be around other doggos and currently live with some at the rescue centre, I would do best as the only pup in my people's home.  ENERGY LEVEL - Medium GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown Dogs – Yes I currently am around other pups at the rescue centre, although I can get jealous when other pups show interest in the person I like and would do best as the only pup at home!  Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am very good with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! House trained – A work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Crate trained – I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides –  I may need some additional training and patience.  Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES:  I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
