My story

Daisy Mae is a 1–3-year-old, 11-pound Chihuahua mix from Alabama with a heart as big as her ears. She’s a loving, snuggly, and playful little pup who has been adjusting well to city life in Brooklyn.  Whether she’s curling up with her foster parents, trotting happily on a walk, or enjoying a good chew session with her favorite bone, Daisy’s joy is contagious. In April, this little fighter survived a dog attack in Alabama and underwent surgery for a fracture repair and femoral head ostectomy. She’s made a remarkable recovery, these days, she’s back to living her best life, with just a charming little limp on her right side as a reminder of her resilience. Daisy is smart and eager to learn! She’s house trained on pee pads and, before her injury, was trained to potty outside something she’s excited to get back to as she continues her outdoor walks. Her forever family can help her keep building on the progress she’s already made. At night, Daisy sleeps soundly in her crate and greets you each morning with happy tail wags. When left alone with her foster siblings, she’s content to nap, but she’s always ready for a play session when the opportunity arises. She currently lives with four senior Chihuahuas and gets along great with them, though she’d especially love a playful canine buddy. Daisy’s ideal home would be medium to active, with a good balance of adventures and cuddle time. She’s wonderful with other dogs, takes cues well, and is happy around kids. While she hasn’t met cats yet, she’d likely do fine with a slow introduction. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and spirited companion who will bring both love and laughter to your home, Daisy Mae is ready to meet you. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To apply for Daisy Mae, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2479832##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Daisy Mae, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
