My story

Meet Izzy! Izzy is a 3–5-year-old, 13-pound female Cavalier Spaniel/Poodle mix who came to NYC from Alabama after being rescued from a hoarding case. Despite her rough start, this little lady has proven herself to be incredibly resilient, affectionate, and full of joy. She’s a social butterfly who quickly adjusts to new surroundings and has been thriving in her city foster home. Izzy is a bundle of energy who loves her walks, play sessions, and squeaky toys (especially her beloved dragon). She’ll often bring you a toy to throw, then proudly prance back with it for round two. She’s very excitable and adores canine friends—she would be thrilled to have a doggy sibling to romp and cuddle with. She also enjoys the company of children and is calm around cats. Her forever family should be ready to continue working on her house training. Izzy is still learning to potty consistently outside and will benefit from frequent walks and a predictable routine. She’s also working on polite leash manners and learning not to pull in her excitement to explore. Izzy is a smart girl who already knows “sit” and is eager to learn more with positive reinforcement. While she has a bit of separation anxiety, she has been doing well in her crate during the day and finds comfort in cozy spaces. After a day of play, she’s happiest snuggled up next to you, soaking in all the love she can get. Izzy is looking for an active, patient family who will give her plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and continued training while also cherishing her sweet, snuggly side.
