My story

Meet Arabella – a sweet and sensitive girl who came to the shelter through no fault of her own. She can be a little shy in new situations, but her kind heart shines through, and she’s been gaining confidence every day. Once outside her kennel, she transforms into a whole new lady—calm, happy, and ready to enjoy life.Arabella is easy to leash and a wonderful walking companion. She strolls along politely, often checking in with her handler for reassurance, and she takes treats with the gentlest manners. At the shelter, she has also shown signs of being housetrained. She’s had lots of adventures outside the shelter, and each time she’s impressed everyone she’s met. During the Dogs Day Out program, Arabella visited Canton Waterfront Park, where she loved running, exploring, and soaking up the fresh air. Her volunteer described her as sweet, calm, and funny. She knows her basic commands and showed just how attentive and obedient she can be.At an adoption event, Arabella proudly wore her “Adopt Me” vest and was the perfect model dog. She stayed calm and polite the entire time, happily meeting new people before curling up for a nap in the middle of all the activity.Arabella has now been in a foster home for just over a week, and her behavior has been wonderfully consistent. Every day she shows that she’s a gentle, happy girl who truly shines in a home environment. While she struggled with the stress of shelter life, she’s relaxed and thriving in foster care. She is housetrained, has excellent manners, and sleeps soundly through the night in her dog bed. She can be left alone in a separate room (after a little initial protesting), which has been a big help as she’s still working on getting fully comfortable with the crate. She can also be a little shy when meeting new people at home, but with patience and kindness she warms up beautifully. Some of her favorite things include peanut butter, belly rubs, and showing off her “sit.” She walks beautifully on a loose leash and remains calm and non-reactive even when she spots other dogs.Arabella has met both large and small dogs at the shelter. With a little time to warm up, she becomes playful and friendly with her canine companions. This tenderhearted girl is ready to blossom into the loyal, loving companion she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate pup to grow with, Arabella may be your perfect match. Arabella is currently in the comfor
