Please contact Chandler Jaffe (chandler.jaffe@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet puppy looking for her forever home TANA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:      Tana            Best Guess for Breed:       Retriever/Shepherd mix   Best Guess for Age:  6 months as of September 2025  SEX:       female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):     26.2  pounds as of 8/31/25    Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations:       Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Tana is Looking For:       Tana is a sweet and spirited pup with a heart full of curiosity! She is ready for a home where she can get lots of playtime, belly rubs, and opportunities to explore the world around her. Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, a romp in the yard, or a cozy cuddle session on the couch, she’s ready for her forever home.  She’s still in her puppy phase, which means she’ll need continued training, socialization, and plenty of exercise. Tana would thrive in an active home where she can grow into the amazing companion she’s meant to be.  What My Foster Says About Me: Tana is a sweet pup. She is slowly adjusting to being with us. She feels safe in her crate and willingly runs to her crate at night. This morning she followed our dog out of her crate to eat her breakfast. Our dog visits her when she wakes up in the morning…it’s so cute! If you are patient enough, she will let you scratch her ears and will come close to lick your fingers. So far, she has not had an accident in the house, and only goes in the back yard.   She loves the back yard and she chases our dog around with such abundant joy, it really warms your heart to see it! This afternoon at times, she looked like a little goat hopping around.She is enjoying playing with toys and the occasional old shoe. Tana just craves to be loved and feel safe, and will be a wonderful pup to a special family!  Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
