My story

WE DOT NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE Penelope is a sweet and gentle girl with a calm demeanor. She settled quickly in her foster home and is learning how wonderful it is to be a beloved pet. Penelope likes to run around the yard with the other dogs in her foster's family but understands when she needs to give them a break and then she will go find a toy to chew on. She is a snuggler and curls herself into a ball to fit in a lap or between the dogs on the couch. She waits patiently for her food to be put down, She is as good a listener as any puppy can be and understands “no”. Penelope was happy to sleep in a crate but within a couple of days, she wanted to be with the other dogs. She would love to sleep on the bed with her humans and other pups but has found a comfy spot by the bed where she can be close but have some room to stretch out. Penelope lets us know she needs to go out by herding a human in the direction of the door or standing by the door. She goes out and gets right down to business. Walking on leash is going very well. No problem with dogs or people and she keeps up a manageable pace. When it is hot, though, she might veer off to a shady spot under a tree. Penelope would be a good fit for a family with prior dog experience to continue working on training and walking. Her current weight is about 30 lbs at 5 m of age. She will be happy as an only dog or with a companion who likes to play in their fenced yard. Penelope will bring some lucky family a lot of joy and love.
