My story

Meet Tracy Turnblad! While this groovy little lady may not be much of a dancer or singer like the iconic "Hairspray" musical star, our Tracy still manages to steal the spotlight! Tracy was found as a stray on August 10th and was picked up by local police officers. Tracy was terrified and completely shut down when she first arrived at the shelter - but despite her fear, she still let staff give her a medical exam and did not show any reactivity. Due to her nervousness in the kennels Tracy was placed in a staff office where she could relax a bit more, and she started to come out of her shell right away! Tracy has been a wonderfully easygoing "office dog" who loves treats, snuggles, and napping on her fave blanket. She enjoys going on walks, and is shy but friendly when meeting new people. When it comes to toys, Tracy doesn't really "get" them yet, but she's exploring her new items and learning that she likes to chew on bones and other tough chew toys. Tracy has met another large dog at the shelter and they became instant BFFs, so she might enjoy being adopted into a multi-dog household! She is a good fit for other dogs who match her enthusiastic, energetic play style. (Tracy also briefly met a small dog and did very well with him, but her rough-and-tumble play could be a little too much for tiny pups.) By and large, though, her favorite pastime is just chilling on her bed and relaxing - she has a nice medium energy level and is perfectly content just hanging out! Since Tracy can still be a little shy when meeting new people, at this time she would be best suited for a household with older kiddos who can be respectful and give her space when she needs it. Interested in meeting Tracy? Come to ACCT Philly, open 7 days a week! Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open-intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly's Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313.
