My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tipsy! Tipsy may be a senior at age and only 7 pounds but don’t let that fool you. She is young at heart and full of love. She is a spry little lady. Everyone is shocked when we tell them she is 11! Tipsy found herself needing rescue after her owner passed away. Her previous owners son promised to take take care of her, but sadly he was unable to. In fact at 11 years old she ended up pregnant! She gave birth to 5 puppies who unfortunately did not make it. We promised our rescue partners in Texas that Tipsy would find a home in WNY, so here she is.    Tipsy is a little social butterfly. She loves everyone she meets. When people come over, Tipsy will crawl into their lap and shower them with kisses. She will rub herself all over them to make sure they pay attention to her. And if for some reason you aren’t, she will start to talk to you. It’s starts out as a low rumble of a whine, then eventually it’s a full bark. Tipsy demands your attention, and boy does she know how to get it. Tipsy enjoys sunning herself outside and going for walks. She does pull on walks but again at 7 pounds she is manageable. She wants to explore her environment; she wants to smell all the smells and meet all the people in the neighborhood. She really wants to be wherever you are. Her people mean the world to her. If you are looking for a travel companion, look no further, Tipsy travels great in the car. She will cry and whine at first, but just tell her settle down and she will curl up on her bed and relax. Once in a while she will pop up to see the cars drive by.    Tipsy is a good little watchdog, she will let you know if someone is at the door, or walking by your house. When she hears people, but can’t see them, she will bark. And trust me, she can hear, I mean look at her ears, of course she can! If you tell her to knock it off she will. Her bark is not a petite bark either; it’s pretty loud, so an apartment may not be the best environment for her. Tipsy is doing great on her house training. During the day she will let you know when she needs to go out. How? Well she will bark at you. If you ask her if she needs to go potty, she responds with a Yes!, followed by running right to the door. We do leave a potty pad out for her overnight, just in case, but so far she hasn’t used it. Now keep in mind, the weather is nice and she is from Texas, things may change in that department as the weather changes. She will definitely a sweater in the winter months.    Tipsy is a typical Velcro dog, she is never far behind her foster mom. She gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home but does not require another dog.Tipsy is heartworm negative and was given a 12 month prevention. Tipsy was recently given a dental. She had a nasty infection going on in her mouth and many of her teeth were removed. She is doing great now and even playing with toys again. So small plush toys will be required in her new home. When she is excited, Tipsy will grab a toy and shake it. She will even play fetch with you for a little bit. If you think Tipsy is the right match for you, make sure you apply today.  Tipsy is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped and tested neg. for heartworm.  She has been given a Pro Heart 12 shot, which is her heartworm preventive, for 1 year, and has had a dental while in rescue.  Her adoption fee is $350 to help with her medical costs.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 10, 2025, 8:46 am
