My story

Hi, I’m Epic (my foster Mom calls me Otis)   - part goofball, part cuddle bug, and part professional outdoorsman. I’m about 2 years old (give or take a little), but my heart is 100% puppy. As the story goes, I was found skinny in a backyard - but now I’m healthy, happy, and bulking up. I’m fully potty trained and am learning to love my crate so I can practice personal space manners. My foster Mom says I'm not a lap dog, but I beg to differ. She also always kisses my ears, and say they're like something called velvet. I sleep through the night - but the moment I’m up, I’m ready to explore, train, and say hi to all my friends, but don't get it twisted plenty of my day is spent exploring the inside of my eyeballs.  I love to play and learn. I love squeaky toys, tug-o-war, enrichment activities, and a good old ball. I'm working on fetch! In only a few weeks my foster mom taught me how to sit, lay down, wait and come. We also take nice long walks together, where I sniff everything and everyone. My foster mom says some people don't want to pet me, but I don't believe her yet. Food is one of my favorite things in the world (aside from sniffing) - that's why she says I’m a quick learner.  I am a typical boys boy. I love being outside, trucks, snacks, attention, and being the little spoon. If you’re looking for a loyal and affectionate buddy who will keep you company - I’m your guy. If you're looking for a big mean scary dog... well... let's just say I was afraid of a Yorkie once. Notes from my foster mom: Personality & Characteristics: My foster dog is good with kids and dogs - would do best in a home with older kids or dogs his size, because of his puppy energy. Unclear about cats, although he is very interested in the bodega cats.  My foster dog is: house trained, leash trained, low shed, and quasi-crate trained. 3 Keywords for your pup: loyal, smart, strong Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 6 or 7 needs lots of stimulation with long walks, sniffaris, enrichment activities, and training. Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Will whine/bark if left alone or needs something  Walking Manners: 7/10 better some days. We're working on leash manners in a big city with lots of distractions. In a less active area he will do great. Appetite: extremely food-motivated Favorite Things: being outside, food, friends of all species Commands/Tricks: sit, down, in, wait, place - although still trying to get them 100% ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2486599##
