Sweet Gru is Looking for His Forever Home!Meet Gru, an absolutely precious 5-month-old light grey tabby with the most stunning big round eyes and the sweetest personality you could imagine! Gru's Story:This little guy came to us at just 6 weeks old when he and his siblings were found living outside. During his time as a stray, Gru developed a severe eye and upper respiratory infection from the feline herpes virus. We weren't sure his eye was going to make it, but thankfully he recovered beautifully and appears to have no vision issues. According to MedVet, feline herpes virus is very common - over 90% of cats have been exposed to it during their lifetime, though not all develop symptoms (source: https://www.medvet.com/feline-herpes-virus-eosinophilic-keratitis/). We encourage you to do your own research and speak with your veterinarian to learn more about this manageable condition. As a result of this early infection, Gru will be a lifelong carrier of the virus, which typically stays dormant except during stressful periods. He can absolutely live with other healthy and fully vaccinated cats and dogs. Despite the latent viral load, the foster has noted occasional sneezing and clear eye discharge - but it doesn't affect his quality of life at all! Bonus: Gru is neutered and fully vaccinated.What Makes Gru Special:This little love bug is the perfect mix of playful kitten energy and devoted snuggle buddy! He'll crack you up with his typical crazy kitten antics that might drive you just a little bonkers, but the moment he's done being a wild child, he transforms into the world's best snuggler. Gru loves nothing more than curling up on your chest, nuzzling your face, and treating you to the loudest, most content purr you've ever heard. Even during his most energetic play sessions, he can't help but pause to give you sweet head boops - it's like he's saying "I love you" in the middle of all the fun!Gru's Perfect Family:This social butterfly absolutely loves the company of other animals and would thrive in a home with another cat or dog (he adores both!). He's also wonderful with children and is currently thriving in his foster home with cats, large breed dogs, and kids. Gru even enjoys being carried on his back throughout the house in the foster's youngest child's arms, ready for whatever adventure the kiddo comes up with, showing just how gentle and trusting he is with little ones. Read below for more information.All our cats are fostered in Texas but available for transport out of state. Our cats are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc). Our out of state adoption fee is $250 plus transport fee (varies by location).This fee includes age appropriate, vaccinations, registered microchip, testing for FIV and FELV, and a fecal analysis. Cats will be spayed/neutered if over 6 months of age. Cats will also be current on prevention. A health exam will be completed, and a certificate will be issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of departure.Note: MNS reserves the right to deny any application that is deemed unsuitable for the animal.
