My story

Hi, I'm Oso Norwegian Elkhound | Young | Male | Large About Me Looking for an adventure buddy who’s as loyal as they come? Meet Oso, a vibrant and affectionate Norwegian Elkhound with a heart full of love and energy to match! Oso is a medium-to-large-sized dog with a strong, sturdy build. Standing tall with a majestic, fluffy beige undercoat beneath his gorgeous brown fur, he’s a striking dog that’s sure to turn heads wherever you go. Oso’s not just a pretty face – he’s a dog with a BIG personality! He’s incredibly loyal and loving, and once he’s bonded with you, he’ll be your steadfast companion through thick and thin; his devotion to his people is unmatched. . His playful spirit is contagious, and he thrives on human interaction – whether that’s cuddling up for some quality downtime or engaging in active play sessions. Oso is a fan of all things fun and active! He loves his chew toys and enjoys being the center of attention. He’s a true outdoors enthusiast, so if you’re into hiking, running, or long walks, Oso will be right there with you, ready to go the extra mile. He’s always up for a good romp in the yard, and having a secure, fenced-in space where he can burn off that energy would be the perfect setup for him. While Oso loves being surrounded by people, he’s not a fan of sharing space with cats. His strong prey drive means he tends to chase them, so he’d do best in a cat-free home, or one where he and any resident cats can have their own separate spaces. He has a big, loving heart and is always looking for opportunities to make you smile. His boundless energy and zest for life make him the perfect companion for active families or individuals who want a dog to join them on all their outdoor adventures. Are You the Right Home for Oso? If you’re an active individual or family with plenty of room for playtime and exploration, Oso could be the dog of your dreams! He’s looking for a home where he can be the center of attention, enjoy his favorite activities, and form a deep, loving bond with his new family. Could it be with you? My Profile Age: 2 Weight: 55 Good with kids: Yes, kids over 5 Good with dogs: With Proper Intro Good with cats: No Fenced yard: Preferred Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes for townhouse, but no for apartment House trained: Mostly Crate trained: No Chews inappropriate items: Occasionally Activity level: High Meet Me If you are interested in Oso, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org/adopt. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Oso will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.
