My story

The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application  first by visiting our website at www.dachshundpaws.org    Luci is a teenie weenie! Luci is a 7 year old, 8 pound, Mini Dachshund. Luci came to rescue a 5 years ago, after she was passed around and given away many times. Luci was adopted by a wonderful family, but sadly her family is going through some very tough times and through no fault of hers, Luci needs to come back to rescue. Then she was adopted by a wonderful gal, and sadly life changes and a move over seas, brings Luci back to rescue. Due to so much changes in her life, Luci developed trust issues! Luci is absolutely fearful of men and children. We are not sure what happened to cause this before she came to rescue years ago, but something must have caused such an extreme fear. Luci’s fear can manifest into biting if she is pushed passed her comfort zone. Luci is in a foster home and she does fine sharing the home with a man, but she does bark at him like he is a stranger when he comes home. She is fine sitting with him on the couch, sharing a bed at night, but when he gets home she thinks of him as stranger danger. She will be fine with a man in the house, if he is understanding of her fears and is willing to be patient with her.  She does not do well with strangers in her home, so a quiet home is a must. Luci loves to go for walks and car rides, and when she is out and about, she is fine with strangers. She is so happy on a walk and loves to meet people. Luci is a great dog, LOVES snuggles, loves sleeping next to her foster mom, but she needs a family commited to her and wants to love her forever.  Luci is looking for a quiet home, one with no cats or children. Laci’s ideal home would be with a patient mom, quiet house, a confident doggie sibling and someone who wants to love her FOREVER!!!**When filling out the adoption application, on the last question please make a note that your read her entire description and understand her issues. Applications without this will not be reviewed.  Daisy’s adoption fee: $300We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found.Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day.
