My story

~ I want to live with cat savvy adults who are experienced reading feline body language and behaviors.~ I want to be the only pet in the home.~ I would prefer a peaceful home with not a lot of foot-traffic.~ I have some special behavioral needs but still have lots of life to live and love to give. Please ask the adoption counselor to explain further.Meet Hank, a beautiful 14.3-pound Domestic Shorthair with a lovely tiger and white coat. Hank was surrendered after seven years in his previous home because he was not adjusting well to the children in the household, which contributed to the development of some behavioral challenges. He’s now searching for a quiet, loving home to call his own.Hank is a laid-back, playful cat who enjoys a good game stalking toys and cuddles on his own terms. With a low energy level and a low vocal level, he’s not overly demanding but does enjoy interactive play, especially with wand toys. While he doesn`t care much for being picked up and prefers to keep his feet on the ground, he’s affectionate in his own way and enjoys spending time with his people.Hank previously lived with two adults and three children and was the only pet in the home. After seven years of enjoying the solo lifestyle, Hank would prefer his next home not have any other cats or dogs. He would also enjoy a peaceful, low-traffic environment where he can relax and feel safe. Given his history, Hank is best suited for a calm, child-free home with cat-savvy adults who are experienced in reading feline body language and behavior.Hank has had some difficulty adjusting to the shelter environment, which has led to certain behavioral challenges that require ongoing management. His behavior at home may differ, with these challenges potentially being situational rather than chronic, though this cannot be guaranteed. Adopters should be prepared to continue his treatment plan as outlined. Please ask an adoption counselor for further information.Fill out an adoption application today to learn more about Hank from one of our adoption counselors!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hank, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
