My story

EVIE ~~ Cane Corso, Spayed Female, Black, DOB: 8/4/2020, 93 pounds If you are a fan of Cane Corso's or other giant breeds, consider meeting Evie and adding her to your family. She has had a very rough time lately and is looking for a great family to help her deal with the recent death of her owner. She is staying with us at Crabapple Knoll while we find her a new home. Evie is a very special big girl and we want her to go to the best possible home after such a traumatic event in her life. It may be best for Evie to be the only pet in the household. She would prefer to have all of the attention, food and toys for herself. If there are children in the house, Evie will do best in a home with teenagers who are old enough to understand her need for personal space. We do not recommend that Evie live in a home with other dogs, cats or exotics. Evie is very treat and food motivated and may want to learn some cool tricks or commands if you are interested in training her. Evie is very sweet and affectionate with people she is familiar with ~~ she is just shy around people she is unfamiliar with. It's a learning curve for her, because she genuinely likes people and wants to be friends. It just takes her a little time to warm up. If you can help Evie work through this and everything she's been through, then you are truly an angel and Evie would love to meet you! Ideally, she would like to meet several times with a potential adopter prior to going home ~~ just to make sure she is fully comfortable. Evie can get scared and be a little shy when meeting new people for the first couple times, but does warm up quickly during initial meetings. She is a gentle giant breed, is physically strong and a big, healthy and beautiful girl. She'll need to have a fenced backyard to run around in and does enjoy daily exercise of some sort (going for a walk, playing with toys in the yard, etc.). Evie is great on the leash and enjoys going for adventures and rides in the car! Once she has had her exercise for the day, she is ready to chill for the remainder and would be an excellent companion for watching movies or marathoning your favorite TV show. Evie is a very well behaved girl, is quite smart and loyal to her family and protective of her pack. Evie is healthy, microchipped, current on all vaccines and vet services, and has a negative heartworm and negative fecal test. Her adoption fee is $145 and includes one month of Simparica Trio to go home (for heartworms, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites). She should remain on this medication once per month for the rest of her life to keep her healthy, happy and heartworm free! Evie is definitely ready to get out of the cage and into a home. So, if you would like to meet with her and get to know her ~~ call us at Crabapple Knoll and schedule a date and time to meet her. Ask for Jessica, Sawyer or Abby when you schedule a meeting to be sure they are available to introduce you.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Evie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
