My story

MONROE ~~ Domestic Shorthair, Neutered Male, Black, 14.5 pounds, DOB: 4/14/2015 I'm sweet. I'm a little tiny bit sassy (just sometimes, just because). I'm big and I'm REAL friendly too. I like people, and being pet and having my back scratched. I'm an all around good cat so come and meet me! Maybe we can be friends. Meet our big, handsome boy Monroe! He is absolutely stunning with a silky, shiny sable black coat. If you are a fan of large male cats, Monroe is your guy! He's got a quirky personality and is fun to be around. His green eyes are hypnotic and he is just such a great looking cat! Monroe is eligible for our Seniors for Seniors Adoption Program, so if you are a senior citizen yourself and would like to adopt him, we will waive his adoption fee and give you a 20% discount on future vet services, food, medications, etc., if purchased from us. You'd never know this boy is a senior pet from his swagger and demeanor. A LITTLE MORE ABOUT MONROE: He's an independent guy and may take a little time to get used to new people and a new environment. Give him the time and space to get to know you, and before you know it, he will be following you all around, rubbing on your legs, seeking out your attention and may even reward you by jumping up in your lap. LIKES: He’d enjoy a cat tree, scratching post, and some comfy beds with a large window nearby, and some really cool toys to play with and yummy food and treats. Monroe's adoption fee is $144 and includes a month of Revolution Plus to go home. He should remain on the Revolution for life, to keep him healthy, happy and heartworm free! Monroe can be spunky at times and wants love and affection on his terms (like many cats). Monroe may not be a cuddly lap cat today ~~ but then may surprise you and jump into your lap the next day. He is currently on Gabapentin (for boarding anxiety) and is responding well to that. He should be able to be weaned off his meds once he's happy in his new home. OTHER PETS/KIDS? Monroe may do well with other calm and non-aggressive pets in the home. We always recommend a slow and controlled introduction over a week or two. Monroe should be fine with older children who understand his likes and dislikes. MEDICAL: Monroe is healthy, current on vaccines/vet services, has a negative fecal test and combo test. He will come to his new home with one month of Feline Revolution Plus for heartworms, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites and ear mites. Monroe requests to be an indoor only pet. To meet Monroe and see if he is a purr-fect match, visit him at Crabapple Knoll Vet Clinic, 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, GA. 770.475.8272. Please visit at least two hours prior to closing. Monday to Friday 630AM to 7PM, Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We are closed on all major holidays.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Monroe, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
