My story

Meet WalterWalter is a 60-pound sheepdog–poodle mix with a big heart and a gentle soul. He’s sweet-natured and a little shy at first, especially around new people and kids. But with slow, patient introductions, Walter opens up—and once he does, he’s deeply affectionate. He loves snuggling on the couch and holding hands (or paws) with his favorite humans. It’s his quiet way of showing love. Loyal to the core, Walter bonds deeply and loves with everything he’s got.As a herding breed mix, Walter is smart, energetic, and naturally protective. He’s alert outdoors and always tuned in to his surroundings. If you're new to herding breeds, we recommend doing a bit of research—these dogs thrive on structure, engagement, and having a job to do.Walter is also dog-friendly and has lived with another pup before. If your dog enjoys a good wrestle and play session, they just might become best buds.Above all, Walter is a good boy—gentle, loving, and devoted. Give him your patience, and he’ll give you his whole heart.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Walter, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
