My story

Dodge is a 3-month-old Shepherd mix with a big personality packed into a 12-pound puppy body. He is so sweet, playful, and ready to take on the world in short bursts: like his clumsy puppy crashes when running too fast, or the determined way he goes after a toy—even if it means face-planting along the way. This social butterfly loves everyone—dogs, cats, people—you name it! Dodge adores wrestling with his brother and chasing toys, and when playtime is over, he melts into a snuggly puddle with his people. He currently lives with cats, and thinks they are playmates since they are his size, so a confident cat who can set boundaries would be recommended. He gets along well with kids, but a home with older kids is recommended until he outgrows the mouthy stage. A proper introduction is needed for making new friends.House training is a work in progress, and he uses potty pads in his crate while also going outside when given the chance. He’s comfortable in his crate with a pen attached—especially when his brother is nearby—but he would prefer having people or another dog around most of the time. If left alone too long, he may protest a bit, but another friendly, playful dog could help keep him happy.Dodge is energetic and would thrive with multiple play sessions, walks, or yard time each day. He also loves wrestling with his brother and chasing a ball around the yard.If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, and endlessly entertaining puppy, Dodge is ready to bounce his way into your heart! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dodge, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
