My story

Ginny came to us from our local animal care and control. She came with 4 other dogs covered in feces, urine and mats for days. Even worse there were 5 more that went to another rescue. All from the same home with a story that is unknown. Ginny is doing so well in her foster home and we are ready to find her forever! What we have noticed so far: - She is not potty trained at this time but that is to be expected from the situation that she was previously in. She is doing her best to catch on, but routine will have to be consistent to ensure that she is able continue in the right direction as her cues are not the most noticeable. There is also the chance that in her forever home she will regress (like any other dog) as they learn a new environment and schedule so adopter must be patient. - She is doing good with other dogs. However, we believe that if the household has another dog it would need to be a dog that is on the calmer and co-existing side rather than a playmate. - She is lower energy and love to just be by your side. She bonds hard and once she does she is an absolute shadow. - She is doing well with the children in her foster home but would do best with kids who are aware that they should go slow with her at first. - She seems to bonds with women easier than men. - She has had a bit of a harder time with a crate so confidence building in that area is needed. However so far she has done well in her foster home without it. Thankfully we’re past that puppy stage. - Ginny does have a lot of personality and would make her perfect fit so happy and filled with laughter! Ginny's adoption fee includes her spay, up to date vaccines and preventatives, heartworm negative and microchip. She is currently being fostered in a Chicagoland surrounding area and is adoptable anywhere in Chicago (or within a 3 hour radius).

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ginny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
