My story

Oreo McFlurryThe ironic thing about why I am at the HSHC and up for adoption is that I am so affectionate that I want to be near my owner all the time. I will often walk in front of her to ensure I know where we are going, or I might lounge in a doorway to stay aware of any changes in location. I am an exceptionally friendly and loving companion. I am happiest when I am sitting next to her or sleeping with her at night. The problem arose when my 95-year-old mistress moved into an assisted living facility. She is not as steady on her feet, and due to my tendency to be underfoot, she has stepped on me. Of course, the possibility of her tripping and falling is a significant concern. Additionally, I am only 2-years-old, and I`m a big boy at 19.5 pounds! If I could lose some weight, I`d have even more energy to provide a tripping hazard. So it is best that I find a new home where this won`t be a problem. I also learned that new technology is not always the solution! My mistress tried giving me one of those robotic litter box thingys, which only scared me to death. As soon as we returned to traditional open pans and regular scooping, I resumed my impeccable litter box habits. The interviewer lady (IL) and I had a fantastic time during her visit. I couldn`t wait for her to open my door and begin petting me all over. I gave her nose kisses and head butts and purred up a storm! The whole time she was rubbing me, I was producing tons of biscuits on her arm, the floor, and my bed. She began laughing at my antics of showing her that I liked the attention a lot.
