My story

Meet Eddie This tiny 5-pound sweetheart is about 9 years old and full of love. Eddie is one of the senior Chihuahuas we recently rescued from the Dallas shelter, and he’s already showing us how grateful he is to be safe. His first night in his foster home, he ran straight to the bed, dove under the covers, and curled up at his foster mom’s feet—finally feeling secure. Now he spends his days lounging on soft pillows and soaking in all the comfort he missed for so long. Eddie does have significant hair loss, likely due to past flea infestation and possibly being kept outside in the heat. But the real challenge he’s facing now is heartworm disease. He was heartworm negative when adopted from DAS five years ago, but sadly, he wasn’t kept on prevention and is now heartworm positive. Thankfully, he’s begun treatment and is in good hands. Despite everything, Eddie is a joyful little guy—happy, affectionate, and so ready to be loved. He’s a total snuggle bug and truly just wants to be close to his person.
