My story

Panda (the black and white cat) made the long journey from Saudi Arabia to NYC in the hopes of finding his forever home. He’s a young boy with a lot of energy! He loves to play with toys and his cat roommate Rubberband Man. :) The two of them have quickly bonded and spend their days going between grooming each other and intense wrestling. He loves pets but can get overstimulated so would best be adopted by people or a family that understands cat behavior and signals. He needs to be adopted with a friend (ideally Rubberband Man) so he can get his hours of playfulness out! Rubberband Man (the orange and white cat) had a tough start to life on the Brooklyn streets. He was bullied by the other cats and spent his time trying to get the attention of humans walking by. He was finally brought into our clinic after a severe injury in his left armpit. The best guess is he fell from a fence and sliced open the skin and muscles on the way down. This injury took many weeks to heal and in the process it became evident he had done irreversible damage to one of his ligaments in that arm. He walks with a bit of a limp but is not in pain. This becomes obvious when you see how much he loves to run and play with his bff Panda. One of his most striking features is his cartoon like facial expressions. He’s very curious and will follow you around your home, investigating what you’re up to. He’s truly the best little sidekick. Lastly, from his years of living on the street without the best nutrition he has a bit of a sensitive stomach. He does well with a sensitive stomach diet and probiotics. But will need monitoring to make sure he’s not having tummy problems, we are happy to talk to potential adopters about this! Panda is about 2 years old, and Rubberband Man is about 1.  Panda is FIV+ and will live a normal healthy and long life when provided with quality care such as a balanced diet and yearly wellness exams (like any cat). As FIV+ is not transmittable between neutered/spayed cats under normal circumstances, we are happy for FIV+ cats to mingle with FIV- cats in their adoptive homes.    Panda and Rubberband Man would ideally be adopted together.August 7, 2025, 2:04 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Panda & Rubberband Man, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
