My story

Hi! I’m Chesney, a 12-year-old Springer Spaniel girl who weighs 44 pounds.  I’m mature enough to know the ropes but young enough to enjoy life, especially life with lots of love and affection. General Behavior: Chesney is a sweet, calm and gentle soul.  Though she’s a senior, people often mistake her age for much younger. She is curious about her people and surroundings and adjusts well to new settings. Likes & Dislikes: Chesney loves visitors and car rides, always ready for the next adventure.  She can take or leave toys but enjoys short walks and meals. She is anxious during thunderstorms and fireworks, but she’s been taking Trazodone when either occur and that helps.  Training: Chesney is house-trained, walks well on a leash, and has great house manners.  She sleeps happily in her dog bed at night. Medical: Chesney is a healthy girl and just needs her heartworm and flea/tick preventive medicines like any pup. Other Animals: This gentle lady gets along well with other laid-back dogs.  She hasn’t been exposed to cats in her foster home but her foster mom thinks she would be fine with them. Children: A calm and patient girl, Chesney is great with kids of all ages. Home: Chesney would do fine in a condo, apartment, town home, or single-family home.  She can be left alone in the house in a secure place for short periods with no issues. Grooming: This beautiful girl will need regular baths, brushing and nail trims to look and feel her best. Overall: If you are looking for a quiet, gentle companion, Chesney may be the one for you!
