tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.A volunteer writes:Little Eva Rosa took refuge for a short while in an abandoned church. She was being fed by a Good Samaritan who decided to bring her to the Manhattan Care Center for us to find her a home. She was friendly and easily delivered in a kitty carrier. Once inside our walls and examined by our veterinary team, Eva Rosa changed her tune and became quite upset....Few days down the line, I met Eva Rosa who had returned to her sweet self. She was not in hiding, came right away to meet me, head bunted my hand, purred, rolled on her kennel's floor for petting and sampled treats(see her video). She was a little "nervous" or may be excited and I could see at times some rippling on her back. I returned to visit her a few times and I was welcomed exactly the same way. I am looking forward to meet again this lovely tiny tiger(she is only ten month old) and hope that soon enough, she will find a safe, caring and loving home.
