My story

My foster writes:Melanie is a sweet, spunky, and energetic pup who's equal parts cuddle bug and playtime champ. Her favorite things in the world? Pets, balls, and a good game of tug-especially if you let her win (don't worry, she'll come right back for round two or twelve!). She lives for human connection and will celebrate your return from the bathroom like you've been gone for years-zoomies and all.This girl is 100% an adventure buddy. While her foster mom isn't a runner, she suspects Melanie would make a fantastic jogging companion. On walks, she pulls a bit-mostly toward people she knows or birds she's determined to greet-but she's manageable and learning fast. She's not a fan of getting in the car, but once she's in, she rides like a pro.She knows "sit" and "touch," is working on "leave it," and is very eager to learn. Melanie would thrive in a home with older kids or even another dog, but no cats, please.If you're looking for a loving, playful pup with the potential to be your hiking, jogging, or training partner-and your most loyal fan-Melanie just might be your perfect match.My foster also writes: With a little patience and effort, Melanie can learn anything. She's learned to love the car, learned to "leave it" very quickly. She firmly believes her human is a dog bed, and will work her way onto your lap or chest while watching TV and struggles every night to understand our bed it not her bed, but she does get it after a couple of times!I'm convinced she likes Disney movies more than true crime procedurals but is always down for some netflix binging. She has so much love to give, and will love you even if you accidentally step on her paw or tail. She's really food motivated and willing to learn anything you want to teach.What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!I am excitable and energetic! I will need positive outlets for my energy!I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I'm ready to learn!
