Nanook – A Soulful Survivor Looking for Soft Landings 🖤 Age: ~8 years | Breed: Rottweiler | Temperament: Gentle & Loving She was found alone on the side of the road, her body tired, her eyes full of questions, and still—Nanook greeted the world with grace. No one came looking. No collar. No microchip. Just a quiet dog who had once been loved… and then forgotten. But Nanook doesn’t dwell on heartbreak. This sweet, soulful Rottweiler chooses gentleness over bitterness every single day. All she wants now is a soft bed, a steady routine, and a kind hand to remind her that love still exists. At around 8 years old, Nanook carries the marks of a body that’s done its best without much help—likely chronic joint pain from old cruciate injuries left untreated. She’s now on carprofen and Dasuquin, and we’re helping her along with a gentle weight-loss plan to ease her movement and improve her comfort. But let us be clear: Nanook is not a project. She is not broken. She is peaceful, wise, and quietly affectionate. She doesn’t demand attention. She doesn’t act out. She carries a toy with her like a comfort blanket and watches the world with soft eyes, waiting for someone to see her the way she sees them—with kindness and patience. She’s the kind of dog who gives all of herself and asks for very little. Just someone who won’t leave her behind again. Nanook deserves a home where her golden years can be truly golden.
