Meet Morty — A Loyal Heart Who Just Wants His Peace Back ❤️🐾 If you’ve ever met a dog who quietly loves without asking for much, you’ve met Morty. He’s a 6-year-old, 75-pound Rottweiler/Lab mix — ¾ Rottie, ¼ Lab, and 100% devoted companion. Morty’s story isn’t one of misbehavior or aggression. In fact, he’s great with kids, happily soaking up their hugs and attention. He’s gentle, loving, and fiercely loyal to the people he cares about. Once, when a strange dog charged toward his person, Morty put himself in harm’s way to protect her. He was attacked for it — and sadly, instead of helping him work through that trauma, his world got smaller. He stopped meeting new dogs, and life became less about joy and more about just coping. Today, Morty’s crate is his safe haven — the place he goes to relax and find peace away from the chaos of toddlers and the sharp teeth of a new puppy. But his sanctuary has been taken from him too, as the puppy is allowed to invade his space. When Morty growls to say “please give me a break,” it’s mistaken for aggression instead of a simple plea for respect. Morty has never hurt the puppy. He’s never hurt anyone. He’s simply an older dog who doesn’t want to be pestered all day. Can you blame him? What Morty needs is a committed, loving home where his loyalty and gentle heart are understood. A place where his safe space will always be respected. A family who will give him what he’s always given so freely — patience, kindness, and unconditional love. He’s healthy, happy at heart, and still has so much love to give. He just needs someone willing to give him the stability and respect he’s been missing.
