Ultra Man

My story

Ultra Man is a gentle, friendly pup who’s patiently waiting for a home of his own. While he’s a little shy at first, a treat and a kind word go a long way. Once he trusts you, he’s easy to leash, walks calmly by your side, and seems to be house-trained too. Out in the yard, Ultra enjoys exploring and checking in for affection. With a little time, he’ll show off his playful side, complete with silly play bows and tail wags. He’s curious about other dogs and toys, but his favorite thing is just being with you. He was hesitant to leave the kennel due to the noise level in the eval room. The barking and loud sounds caused him to flinch and cower. He let out one quick low growl when I applied leash pressure but fairly quickly was able to walk out and to the foster office with me crouching and encouraging with baby voice. He never seemed interested in interacting with me or taking pets but did take some treats. When I asked him to sit, he hard barked which seemed to be mainly impatience for the treat but that on top of him not appearing to be super social at the time, I decided not to send him on the day trip since I couldn't get the best read on him. He returned to the crate with no issues. I gave him treats while I unleashed him and he slightly flinched when I touched his neck but allowed me to get it off, and continues taking treats through the bars with a happy tail. 08/07/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Steerable, neutral/avoidant, good greetings, likes to run, mounts 08/07/2025 volunteer notes KENNEL PRESENTATION: Ultra Man is in a crate due to space. He was sitting calmly at the front waiting to head outside. He hesitated to be leashed, retreating to the back of his crate. I fed a treat through the loop in my lead & he walked right into it. Ultra walked through the kennels without issue. LEASH SKILLS: Ultra is easy to manage on his leash walks well stays by your side minimal pulling. Appears house trained, he relieved himself as soon as we got outside. SOCIABILITY: Ultra is a happy friendly pup. He allows handling all over while keeping his body loose with a wagging tail. He explored around the yard on his own & would come back to me for check ins & pets. After a bit of time together he was happily playbowing - showing off his playful side PLAY & TOYS: Interested in toys when tossed, as he would watch them fly & land, but did not choose or take possession. He enjoyed trotting around on his leash & would pick it up to a run when I did. DOG INTERACTION: We saw a few dogs passing in the yard & he expressed interest in them. He is vocal around other pups barking at them, yet he is easy to distract & recall with a toy. RETURNING TO KENNEL: Followed a PB bone into his crate with no issue COLOR LEVEL: Gold 08/05/2025 staff notes: 8/5/25 10:30 pm.
