My story

Coal is a loving and affectionate pup who is on the hunt for a family to call his own. He enjoys spending time with people, getting along well with kids and making fast friends with other animals. His mom is a mix of a retriever and an Irish setter, while his dad is a Great Dane; and these genes combine to make the perfect companion. Coal was raised by a family who cared for him since he was a puppy and as a result, he has excellent manners and is house- and kennel-trained! He is always ready to play, but also loves when it's time to settle down and snuggle up with his humans. He is a talented and intelligent pup who has already learned many tricks and commands, and he is eager to learn more. Here's what Coal would like to tell you about himself: • I like kids and get along well with other animals. • I like pillows and soft blankets to lay on. • I know commands like sit, shake, and down. • I reach out with my long legs and paws to get your attention. • I love toys and when I’m excited, I often pick one up and gallop and prance around to show it off. Especially when I see my person. • I love ice. Any time I hear the ice maker I am right there to get a piece. • I am extremely affectionate and will lay my head in your lap. • I do not like loud noises. I hope you will help me learn to be calm and feel safe even when I hear them. Overall, Coal is a fantastic companion who will stick by your side and fill your life with love and joy. If you're looking for a new best friend, look no further than Coal! ***PLEASE NOTE*** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be submitted online, or sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner’s White Oak Shopping Center. We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. *** Thanks for thinking adoption! ***

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Coal, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
