My story

This cute boy is called Benny or as his foster so lovingly calls him, Little Benny. He comes to us from the Navajo County hoarding situation we took on over this summer (2025). Every puppy had scabs from new/old wounds and was living in heartbreaking conditions. As expected, he was scared/timid at his foster’s house for a while but with love and reassurance, he blossomed after about a week. Benny is described as so sweet and well behaved. He loves belly rubs, cuddling, and playing a game of fetch. He is not currently crate-trained but has not been destructive in the home. He is living with small and large dogs as well as cats (he plays with them and has not hurt them). His foster notes that he prefers to be with the other dogs and is close to their other foster Motley (from the same situation). He is an active puppy and does get bursts of energy typically at 1am when everyone is in bed. He does respond well to verbal correction or treat redirection if needed. Based on Benny’s affectionate and social personality, he think he’d do great with an active couple or family with children of all ages and other playful dogs. He may need an adjustment period since he was timid upon arrival to his foster’s home but he will integrate well with patience. He’s a happy, loving boy who will make a great addition to someone’s household! Adoption application: https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Benny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
