My story

Meet Katie, a three month old German Shepherd/Newfoundland. Her entire litter weighs between 20-27 pounds so they will be big when fully grown. Katie is a big pup with even bigger paws, hinting at the large and lovable dog she’s growing into! She was found in a field with her siblings, covered in ticks and in need of care—but despite her rough start, she’s incredibly sweet and gentle.Katie is still a little unsure of the world and could use some patience, love, and socialization to help her build confidence, she is the shyest of her litter. She’s likely a mix of many breeds, but 100% pure heart. With some TLC and a steady, supportive home, Katie will blossom into a loyal and loving companion.If you’re ready to help a sweet girl grow into her best self, Katie is waiting to meet you! Please remember that Katie is a puppy and puppy behavior comes with the package. They need basic training and potty training along with being provided chew toys to encourage proper chewing habits. All puppies require socializing from a young age to help them become the best, most well-rounded dog they can be.This pet is available for adoption on 8/3/2025 at 4:42 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
