Baxter is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption survey, and then we can set up a phone call or meet and greet with the foster! Baxter is: Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Baxter: Housebroken: Working on it, and doing well overall when on a consistent routine and quick access to the outdoors when he has to go potty Crate trained: Yes! Leash walking: He has been working on calm leash manners, and has been doing well overall with positive reinforcement training Dog social: He lives with a resident dog in his foster home and has been doing well after a slow intro period. He can be very playful, so is best matched with other playful, tolerant dogs. Cat social: Unknown, but likely not a match Kid friendly: Unknown, though he may do best with older kids as he can become mouthy (play bite) when overstimulated Baxter likes: - Putting his paw around you and snuggling in close, before getting extra cozy and laying belly up - Wrestling with a dog pal - Learning new things! Baxter is such a cutie, and is also a wholesome guy that is interested in everything, all the time. His face is just a puddle of jowls and wrinkles that are begging to be squished and kissed! He has so many perks- loves his crate, naps throughout the day like a champ and sleeps well overnight, loves the car, learns new things so quickly, and is generally hilarious as well. If you have ever seen videos of pandas rolling around and falling out of bamboo trees, that is similar to Baxter's goofy and clumsy vibe. He falls off the couch in a slo-mo barrel roll and enjoys taking naps on his back. He is somehow the perfect blend of low energy and high energy! He doesn't need long walks, isn't a "hiker/adventure" dog (he poops out quickly on walks and is done), but still loves to play and wrestle. He's content to self entertain with some toys. He would love a home where he'll get plenty of mental enrichment and physical activity, to keep him engaged and set him up for success! He is looking for a family that will be patient with him while he figures out home-living. Baxter's adoption fee is $300, and he is ready to fill his new home with joy and laughter! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ *** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program.
