My story

Meet Cleo! This special girl is looking for her forever home! Cleo was surrendered earlier this year, and although a rescue group was able to save her just in time, circumstances beyond her control led to her being boarded at her dog trainer’s facility, where she was graciously hosted for nearly two months. Since then, Cleo has been staying in a loving temporary home while the resident dog recovers from surgery. At 5 years old, Cleo still has bursts of playful puppy energy but is fully crate and house trained. She sleeps soundly in her crate—her snoring is impressive!—but she’s just as happy to burrow under the covers in bed if invited. Cleo enjoys walks, cuddling on the couch, chewing on her Kong bone, watching animals on TV, greeting Amazon deliveries, and charming the 10-year-old neighbor. She has a funny little habit of grabbing tall grass during walks and hopping away like she just pulled off a heist. Cleo has gone on walks alongside the resident dog and done wonderfully. While she can be calm with another dog in the same room (on leash), she really shines when she has the space to herself. In a home where she’s the only dog, her goofy, wiggly, cuddly personality comes out in full force. Cleo would do best in a home without young children, though older kids who respect her space could be a good fit. She’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion and bring joy, laughs, and love into a lucky family’s life.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cleo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
