Meet Lenny Lenny is a 3 year terrier/cattle dog mix. He has a cute personality. The fact that he has one ear down and one ear up at all times is a good indication of his playfulness :) He knows basic commands like sit, shake and is fully potty-trained, with no accidents. He can be a cuddlebug/lover boy, and really enjoys rubbing up on his favorite people and he always appreciates being able to lay on your legs when you sleep. When he meets new people, he can get excited, and expect him to be jumping up and seeking affection. He has never met a person he doesn't like! When it comes to playing, he has a big motor. He loves to chase balls, but he is not so fond of giving it back to you. He loves to chew on balls and at times will play with a Kong toy when he gets excited but most of the time he prefers to just run around. He also lives with two brothers, a great dane and another cattle dog/pit mix. He is an active playmate. (We have lots of videos we can share of their interaction). With the cattle dog mix, they play very friendly and he would do well in a home with a frendly companion to play with. We believe this also helps him remain calm when we leave the house. We do not crate him when we leave, and can be gone for hours with everything fine so he can be trusted not to potty or destroy things. That being said, we are careful not to leave items out because he can be a chewer. He needs to be fed separate becuse he doesnt want doggies near his food probably becauss he was used to not getting any when h was on the streets. And will give a little warning so best to feed separately. He needs a family or adopter that is experienced in recognizing resource guarding. He has been prone to ear infections so needs to he on a specific food. He is quite an independent guy, and a lovebug, and so friendly. He gets nervous at the vet so I hold him for these routine appointments that simply help him live a better life. A good fit for him would be a home where he can play outdoors and indoors (he loves to nap outside when the weather is nice and watch birds. He would also do well with a teenager who could give him daily walks or run around with him and play. He also shares a bed with a cat, and does not seem to have any prey drive with her although he can be curious when she roams the house. We are not sure of interactions with smaller children. He is a wonderful little guy, and while we very much enjoy him and all of his little quirks, we also think there may be a better home situation for him and we would love to find it for him.
