My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:1Leonardo – the Shy Husky Mix Pup with a Sweet Snuggle Streak Leonardo is a stunning young Husky mix boy, weighing in at 61 pounds and just under a year old. While he may start off a bit independent, it doesn’t take long for his affectionate nature to shine through—especially when you greet him at his level. Sweet & snuggly: Once comfortable, Leonardo will lean right into you for affection—especially butt scritches! His tender side comes out quickly, and he’s happy to settle in for a cuddle. Toy lover & treat fan: He enjoys his treats and is responsive to cues, showing promise as a pup eager to learn. He especially loves carrying around squeaky toys like prized possessions. Still learning: Leonardo is working on his leash skills and may zigzag a bit or pull mildly, especially when something startles him. With continued support and consistency, he’ll gain confidence in new environments. Dog social & gentle: Leonardo plays politely with other dogs in playgroup and remains non-reactive to barking dogs around him. His calm, curious nature makes him a great candidate for a well-matched dog companion. Leonardo would thrive with appropriately matched dog friends or as a solo pup with opportunities for positive dog interactions.
