This shy, sensitive boy may be a bit hesitant at first—preferring to lounge quietly or tuck himself into hiding spots—but he’s incredibly sweet once he knows he’s safe. He’s tolerant of being picked up and carried, especially when he's with his bonded buddy, Geronimo. Though he startles easily and doesn’t like being exposed, Phoenix will cautiously sniff your finger, accept pets, and slowly relax into them. When separated from Geronimo, Phoenix becomes noticeably anxious—meowing until they’re reunited. Because of this strong bond, Phoenix must be adopted with Geronimo. They’re a perfect pair for a calm, low-key home with no young kids (ages 8+ preferred). With a patient and gentle adopter, Phoenix will blossom into a loving companion who just needs a little extra reassurance along the way.
