Spencer

My story

Spencer is a 3yr old, 73lb black and brown German Shepherd that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 7/30 as a stray. We all know that shepherds are known for their intelligence, ability to follow commands and to be loyal to their owners. Spencer gave me a cordial welcome when I got him out of the kennel. He nuzzled up to me and then proceeded to walk right along beside me out to the yard. He was actually heeling. He’s very alert and explored the yard. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He’s well mannered and didn’t jump on me. He’s calm, has a good disposition, and is very warm and friendly. He did his business in the yard. He was not interested in meeting other dogs, but I didn’t see any aggression either! He will need to live in a house, not an apartment, and will need to get out for frequent walks and exercise. But at the same time he wants to be an inside dog so we can spend family time being close with you.
