My story

MEET LOOPY! *Special Needs | Blind* Everything about this sweet little cat is special - meet Loopy! Loopy joined the rescue from Philadelphia's animal control shelter after she was found as a stray. Loopy was somehow surviving on the streets of Philadelphia as a blind senior cat! Needless to say, she's ready and so deserving of a nice quiet forever home where she can just chill and be adored. Loopy is estimated to be 10+ years old. She has the most stunning medium-length Torti-colored coat. While Torti cats are often known for their boisterous personalities, Loopy is a laidback girl who absolutely melts into you for pets. She immediately starts purring once you pick her. She loves her human friends and is currently in foster care with children who she absolutely adores. She is also currently living with other cats and dogs but prefers to space herself out from them. She's happy to share the space but would prefer they just leave her alone. We think she'd be happiest in a home without other pets or with other laidback pets who won't try to push her around. Despite being blind, Loopy has no issues maneuvering her foster home including finding her meals and litter box (except that she's hesitant to go UP stairs, fine going down them). After navigating life as a blind stray in Philly, there's not much Loopy can't handle. Loopy has been fully vetted since coming to the rescue including having a cardiology workup. She was diagnosed with Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and hypertension. She doesn't require medication to treat the early heart disease but is currently takes blood pressure medication once a day. She is very used to taking her meds and gives us no trouble! Now that we're sure that Loopy is feeling better than she likely has in a long time, it's time to find this girl the home she deserves! Loopy is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also FIV/FeLV negative. Interested in adopting her? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt LOOPY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
