My story

Meet Annie 🖤Annie is a beautiful 7-year-old black Lab mix who weighs about 65 lbs. Her life has been full of change, and sadly, this is her 4th time finding herself back at the shelter. We were heartbroken to see her return, as her former owner—who adored her—had to make the difficult decision to give her up because her energy was more than they could manage. Annie’s care has always been top-notch, with meticulous health records and a lifetime of love behind her.Here at the shelter, Annie is extremely shut down and scared, so she needs a calm, quiet home with minimal visitors. She’d do well with an older person or anyone who can provide a peaceful environment and a consistent way to help her get her exercise. Annie deserves stability, patience, and a forever family that will let her finally feel safe. Could you be the one to give her the happy ending she’s been waiting for?All cats and dogs adopted from the Chequamegon Humane Association are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Dogs are tested for heartworm. A minimum adoption fee of $185 is required for adult dogs, puppy adoption fees start $300, and dogs over the age of 10 are $100. Adult cat adoption fees are $85, kittens under one year are $135, and cats over the age of 10 are $50.
