My story

I am a special needs dog. I was left tied to a post on Main Street and its clear I have not had the best life. I am very nervous about most things but have not ever been aggressive with anyone at the shelter. I spend most of my time hiding in a crate in my kennel. The staff is very patient with me but this is not my cup of tea. I am looking for a patient person that has worked with dogs that have not had any or much socialization. I act like a puppy mill dog and was probably just locked up or away as I was growing up so now everything is overwhelming. I do latch on to other dogs for moral support so that might be helpful in my new home or a foster home. Please don't forget about the dogs like me, its not our fault that we lacked the care and compassion puppies deserve growing up.All cats and dogs adopted from the Chequamegon Humane Association are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Dogs are tested for heartworm. A minimum adoption fee of $185 is required for adult dogs, puppy adoption fees start $300, and dogs over the age of 10 are $100. Adult cat adoption fees are $85, kittens under one year are $135, and cats over the age of 10 are $50.
