My story

PIRATE - 1-5 years old, 40 pounds, active, can be skittish    Pirate is a return resident of VBACAC.  He is super cute with his tan and white fur and his human-like husky eyes. He is hesitant with everything at first but slowly warms up. Pirate is house trained but has accidents in the home when he is spiked by something, which occurs daily.  (Loud noises and fast gestures)  Patience and a little understanding will go a long way when it comes to allowing Pirate to settle in, learn to trust and gain some confidence. Pirate loves to play and plays with all kinds of toys, plush, squeaky, tug, balls. This rascal has been known to counter surf so let’s make sure to start some daily training to help curb this behavior and at the same time maybe gain some of that confidence mentioned above. Along with being scared of loud noises, Pirate is not the best in a car. Remember training, patience and practice should all combine to help him become a confident and well balanced dog. Pirate seems to enjoy the company of other more gentle but playful dogs. He is a runner and a chaser.  Bring any resident dog in for a meet and greet! He is currently in our medium dog adoption kennel. Just ask your meet him!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 31, 2025, 5:59 pm
