My story

Meet Glinda! 5 years old • 15 lbs • Female Pomeranian Glinda is a beautiful little survivor with a spark of curiosity and a big appetite for life (and snacks!). At just 5 years old, she spent her early years in a puppy mill and is now getting her first real taste of freedom — and she’s absolutely ready to bloom. She is extremely food motivated and incredibly smart when it comes to solving puzzles or finding her way to a meal. She never misses a hidden treat and will confidently navigate around barriers to reunite with her foster mates at mealtime. Glinda will gently lick food off your fingers and take treats beside you, though she’s still not ready to be touched. She is a big fan of a smashed up egg with a little goat kefir on top, but honestly she loves almost anything. She LOVES to forage through puzzles, boxes, bedding for treats. What she is ready for, though, is comfort — Glinda has discovered the joy of soft dog beds and now often chooses to rest near her foster mom. She is confident enough to nap peacefully beside her person, showing how far she’s come in learning to feel safe around humans. While she doesn’t want to be handled yet, she absolutely wants to be close. She’s pad trained and consistently chooses to potty away from her living space, showing strong potential for future house training. Leash training will take time, but her progress so far is promising. Glinda will do best in a home with another small, calm dog to help show her the ropes and give her confidence. She hasn’t met children, cats, or unfamiliar dogs, so a quiet, patient home — ideally with experience in under socialized dogs — will be the best match. One thing to note: Glinda does bark when left alone, especially if she feels isolated. Because of this, she wouldn’t be a good fit for apartment living or shared-wall housing. She’s looking for a home where a little barking won’t be a big problem — and where her people understand that it comes from uncertainty, not mischief. Glinda is not looking for hugs — she’s looking for space, safety, and a home where she can continue to grow. With time, patience, a cozy bed, and maybe a little goat kefir or boiled egg, this clever girl will continue to blossom into the brave, curious dog she was always meant to be. Glinda is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Glinda, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
