Meet Kalina! Kalina is a petite five year old, 10 pound Pomeranian with a big personality just waiting to shine. Recently rescued from a puppy mill where she was used for breeding, she’s now experiencing the world for the very first time—and discovering that life outside a crate has so much to offer. Like many Poms, Kalina is full of charm and spunky energy. She’s a curious little spirit in a fluffy package, always interested in exploring her surroundings—even if she’s a bit shy about it at first. She’s doing well with the other dogs in her foster home and seems to take comfort in their presence as she learns how to just be a dog. Kalina is still getting used to being handled and may be nervous when picked up, but she allows it gently and is learning to trust. She’s also working on potty and leash training, as everything outside of a crate is brand new to her. With patience, kindness, and a calm home environment (preferably with another dog), Kalina is ready to leave her past behind and begin the joyful life she’s always deserved. Kalina is fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Her adoption fee is $450. Kalina is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kalina, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
