My story

Archie is fostered in Cloverdale, IN Meet Archie – A Gentle Soul with a Playful Heart Found wandering near a gas station along a busy state road west of Indianapolis, Archie was lost but not broken. This young Aussie had clearly been on his own, but when his foster mom saw his photo on Facebook, she couldn't help herself.  There was something about his open, hopeful eyes told her he was ready to trust again—and he did. From the moment they met, Archie welcomed her with a soft heart and gentle spirit, embracing the help he so clearly needed. Archie is estiamted to be 2 - 3 years old and currently weighs 45 lbs, with a beautiful tail.   Now safe and thriving in a foster home, Archie has made incredible progress. He lives peacefully among dogs of all sizes and ages, plays well with others, and picks up new routines quickly. He’s potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, and shows lovely pack manners. His foster environment has allowed him to blossom socially, enjoying trails, toys, and the companionship of other dogs. Archie is a sensitive boy—skittish around unfamiliar humans and prone to submissive accidents when nervous. His adopter must understand that this is not “bad behavior,” but the tender-hearted reaction of a dog who needs to build a little confidence.  With patience, kindness, and consistency, Archie’s confidence will continue to grow. He’s treat-motivated and already knows sit, come, go to bed, and off. Ideal adopters will have experience with Australian Shepherds or similar herding breeds, and understand their mix of intelligence, emotional sensitivity, and need for stimulation. Archie would thrive in:     •    A home with another friendly, confident dog     •    A family that enjoys walking trails, public dog parks, or has access to doggy daycare     •    A fenced yard with room to romp and humans who are around more often than not Archie is good with children, enjoys outings, and is ready to meet the world—at his own pace, with you by his side.  Archie is not just looking for a home. He’s looking for a teammate. A leader. A forever person who sees his heart and will help him shine.
