My story

Meet Pinky! A 2-year-old happy husky girl who after spending a month and a half in the shelter, she landed on the E-list due to kennel stress. She had begun spinning in circles in her kennel which told us that she had too much energy for shelter life and was mentally struggling with the confinement. When we met her, we saw that Pinky is a goofy, funny girl--our volunteer couldn't stop raving about how friendly she was! Pinky also showed us just how much energy she has, and it's A LOT! She’s now in our care with one of our wonderful fosters and ready for a home where her energy can be matched with love and structure. Pinky was a little stressed the first night in her foster home, but she had been through a lot in the days leading up to her rescue. She’s a high-energy pup who thrives with structure, enrichment, and lots of movement. She enjoys walks, fetch, belly rubs, and basically anything involving food. She walks well on leash, and she’s been working on her manners—like jumping up, counter surfing, and being a bit “mouthy” during play. Pinky doesn’t love the crate and can be a bit bossy with other dogs. She’s shown resource guarding around other pups and tends to play best with submissive companions. Pinky brings a lot of joy with her and knows how to keep you on your toes! Pinky would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation. She would likely prefer being the center of attention in a only-dog home. Due to her energy and play style, older kids (13+) are a better fit. Pinky has a prey drive, so sadly no cats for this girl. She’s not a couch potato—but if you’re looking for a hiking buddy, a jogging partner, or a goofball of a companion, Pinky might be your perfect match!
