My story

Debbie's life did not start out that great. It is likely that she was either living on the streets of San Antonio or living with someone who did not take care of her, at all. She was found wandering the streets with severe chemicals burns on her back and other parts of her body. She had open wounds from the burns that were painful and bright red. Her skin did not exist in some parts. Debbie was picked dup by Animal Control and was brought into a high kill shelter in San Antonio where she awaited her euthanasia date. BUT- we could not let her die. Our foster in New York wanted to give Debbie the start to a new life. We made a promise to her that we would get her "all better" and give her the life that she deserves. We had her treated by a veterinarian and a kind foster in San Antonio. We then transported her to upstate New York, where she is now! Her foster mom in New York could not wait for Debbie to arrive. And she did not disappoint! She is so very sweet and only shows love to the adults and kids in the foster home! She is good with their dogs and cats as well! Debbie is still a baby and has some energy! She would love a few leash walks a day or some good romps in the backyard to get her energy out! A tired dog is a good dog! :) If you are looking for a girl who is most thankful to be on this earth, and shows you that everyday, Debbie is your girl. To apply for Debbie visit homerunhounds.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Debbie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
