My story

Layla's story is one that tugged at our heart strings so hard, we just couldn't say no. At just seven years old, this scared, stunningly pretty girl was dropped off at an over-crowded shelter in Chicago because her owner had become too elderly to care for her and her owner's adult children weren't willing to help. So, they presumably shaved her - we're guessing because she was matted? And then brought her to the shelter where she sat terrified and confused in the loud, cold cages. One look at her sad intake photo and our Operations Director, Katie, just couldn't let her sit there another day, so sweet Layla joined the SAYv family. We're still trying to figure out exactly what Layla really looks like. We think it's possible that Layla has longer hair, but it's hard to tell with her not so fancy haircut. We do know that she has bright, beautiful blue eyes that are mesmerizing. Her coat is a creamy white, with patches of light grey over her ears and on her tail. Personality wise, Layla is going to need an adopter that understands that this has been a big change for her and that she is pretty scared right now. Her life has been turned completely upside down and she's not sure why - but we know that there is a kitty in there that wants to trust and love again and we can't wait to see her blossom. Laya LOVES Churu treats - so treats may be the way to her heart! Do you have space in your heart and home to give this girl the forever home she deserves? Apply to adopt today: sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: Despite what PetFinder, AdoptAPet and other aggregation software systems state - the first step is to submit an application via the link above, NOT send a message through their platforms. Thank you!)

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Layla, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
