My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $800 Meet Everly! 2–3 years old • 8 lbs • Maltipoo • Hypoallergenic coat   Everly may only weigh eight pounds, but her transformation is nothing short of mighty. When she was rescued from the shelter, she was a matted, uncomfortable little pup. But thanks to one of our amazing volunteer groomers, Everly got the makeover she desperately needed—and out came a joyful, confident, and utterly lovable companion.   With a soft, non-shedding coat (great for those with allergies or just low-maintenance vibes), Everly is the perfect mix of playful energy and calm snuggle buddy. She’s house-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and coexists peacefully with other dogs, cats, and even teens. Her foster describes her as “gentle and sweet, with bursts of silly playfulness”—especially when she’s chasing her favorite duck toy or coaxing the other dogs into a game of chase.   Everly loves her people. She’s a bit of a velcro pup, often following her foster dad and teenage son from room to room. And while she’s still mastering the art of going down stairs (she’s got the “up” part nailed!), she’s quick to learn and eager to be part of the pack—whether it’s on the sofa, the bed, or out in the yard for a zoomie break.   While Everly enjoys her naps and lounging time, she needs a few play breaks throughout the day to get her wiggles out. She would thrive in a home with other dogs, playful kids, or both—any place where she gets to be included and loved.   Why adopt Everly? Because every day with her feels like watching someone come alive. From those first tentative tail wags to full-speed zoomies and cuddle sessions with her chosen humans, Everly has blossomed into a delightful, affectionate little soul who will absolutely light up her forever home.   Bonus fun fact: Everly sometimes 'collects' socks in her bed—just a little reminder that she’s got a quirky streak to match her charm.   Ready to give Everly the pack she’s been waiting for?        July 22, 2025, 4:09 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Everly, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
