My story

Hi, I'm Nora! I came from a large puppy mill in Colorado where more than 150 of us were kept in harsh, neglectful conditions. Life there was scary and lonely. I was rescued with my nine sisters and brought to Wisconsin for a chance at something better - a life where I could finally feel safe. I'm one of the more skittish girls in the group. I prefer to keep to myself and quietly observe the world around me. Sudden movements and loud noises still make me nervous, and I'm not quite ready to seek out affection. But I'm trying. Every day, I learn a little more about trust and what it means to be cared for. Because of my sensitive nature, I'd do best in a calm, quiet home. Older, respectful children would be okay, as long as they understand I need to move at my own pace and may never be a cuddly or outgoing dog. I do well with other dogs and would love a confident, gentle canine friend to help show me that the world isn't so scary. I know I'm a work in progress, but I've come so far already.
